Sofia is an experienced Senior Associate in our dispute resolution team with almost a decade of post qualification experience. She advises and represents clients in all types of commercial litigation across state and federal jurisdictions.

Sofia’s litigation practice focuses on representing commercial and private clients in numerous types of disputes, including, leasing, building, franchising contract or debt related. She also regularly acts in matters involving misleading and deceptive conduct claims under the Australian Consumer Law, breach of contract, franchise disputes and insolvency related proceedings.

Drawing on her industry experience and a growing professional network, Sofia ensures that her clients receive access to a range of advisors to best suit their needs.

Experience

  • Litigation in various state and federal jurisdictions including the County Court, Supreme Court, Federal Court and the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal
  • Representing publicly listed and private companies in commercial and corporate disputes
  • Providing high level strategic advice to clients, with a specific focus on options for resolution of disputes
  • Guiding clients through contract disputes, including claims for damages arising from breach, repudiation and the proper construction of contractual terms
  • Acting for franchisors/franchisees in competition and consumer law claims and breaches of the Franchising Code of Conduct
  • Representing external administrators, creditors and company directors in insolvency related proceedings
  • Acting and advising building contractors in claims under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 2002 (Vic) and general building and construction disputes
