Having been a lawyer for close to 50 years, Paul has specialised in Worker’s compensation since 1989. In that time, he has acquired extensive experience through holding senior management positions with WorkCover insurers, WorkCare Appeals Board, Medical Panels and conducted litigation in all jurisdictions with Panel Solicitors for 20 years.

Experience

  • Acting on behalf of WorkSafe and employers in relation to Court of Appeal applications, in defence of common law damages hearings in both the Supreme Court and County Court, serious injury applications and statutory benefits disputes

  • Provided legal advice & administrative law advice to the Convenor of the Medical Panel

  • Dispute resolution management

  • Appearances in court, mediations and at settlement conferences

  • Provides instructions to Panel solicitors in statutory benefits matters on behalf of an insurer

  • Provides advice to employers (both large and small) on all aspects of worker’s compensation

Leadership

  • Immediate past president of Forest Hill Lions Club

  • Current chairman of Lions District V5, Zone 7 & looks after 9 Lions clubs
