Maurizio began his career in Family Law, taking instructions and providing advice to de facto and married couples about their Binding Financial Agreements, whether they were entering into a new relationship, were getting married or were married or following their separation. Maurizo represented clients with respect to their Application for Divorce and was able to assist them with finalising their financial affairs by preparing new Wills, Power of Attorneys and Enduring Guardian, which is essential following the breakdown of a relationship if you want to protect your affairs.

Maurizio then practiced law in the commercial and corporate space where he was able to develop his negotiating and transactional skills. Maurizio is now keen to apply that experience to Family Law and his diversified knowledge in the areas of financial services, corporation’s law, property law and wills and estates only goes to benefit clients with respect to the resolution of their Family Law matter.

Experience

  • Advising on and preparing complex Binding Financial Agreements, before, during and after a relationship

  • Preparing for and representing parties in their Divorce Hearings

  • Consulted, advised and prepared documents for Succession Law matters including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Enduring Guardians and Medical Directions

  • Drafting contracts including but not limited to for sale of land, loan agreement, co-ownership agreements.

  • Assessed and advised companies on their privacy and data protection frameworks against Australian, NZ and International Privacy Regimes

  • Advised trustees and beneficiaries in regard to their rights arising from wealth asset related instruments, including constitutions and investment management agreements

  • Responsible for researching and compiling obligation registers in relation to financial crime, including Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing, Tax, Sanctions and Anti-Bribery and Corruption for large Financial Services organisations, including one of the big banks.
