Malvina has over ten years of experience specialising in immigration and refugee law. She acts for asylum seekers, refugees and migrants in a range of matters including visa applications and cancellations, judicial review, and citizenship. Malvina also has extensive experience in developing and presenting community legal education seminars on refugee and migration matters.

Experience

  • Representing people seeking asylum, refugees and migrants at the primary and appeal stages of the visa application process

  • Acting for applicants in the Federal Circuit Court for migration related judicial review matters

  • Representing applicants in citizenship and visa cancellation matters

  • Developing and delivering community legal education seminars on a range of refugee and immigration law issues

  • Coordinating refugee and immigration legal advice services and specialist legal clinics

  • Part of the legal team behind the successful M70/M106 High Court challenge to the legality of the Government’s proposal to process asylum seekers offshore
