Kate is a Special Counsel in the Corporate and Commercial team. Kate’s primary areas of focus are mergers and acquisitions, business structuring (including succession), renewable energy and commercial contracts. Kate also practices in relation to other corporate-commercial advisory matters including in relation to consumer law, intellectual property, and corporate governance.

Kate is commercially focused and committed to working with her clients to deliver clear and concise advice and develop effective and pragmatic legal solutions.

Experience

  • Acting for buyers and sellers in simple and complex merger and acquisition transactions.
  • Advising on structuring arrangements including preparation of ownership agreements including shareholder agreements, unitholder agreements, partnership agreements and joint venture agreements.
  • Advising in relation to Intellectual Property matters including licensing and commercialisation of IP assets, branding, trademark and copyright protection including ownership and structuring issues, and registration of IP assets.
  • Preparing, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts including preferred supplier agreements, distribution agreements, terms of trade, sponsorship agreements and procurement contracts.
  • Advising on consumer law compliance.
  • Advising on Privacy Law compliance.
  • Providing corporate governance advice.
  • Advising on Personal Property Securities Law including preparing and negotiating finance, loan and security documents.
  • Acting for landowners on the complex area of renewable energy projects.
  • Acting for clients of various size across a broad spectrum of industries including health, manufacturing, automotive, financial services, consumer products, technology and food and beverage.
