NEWS: Russell Kennedy acts for Uniting AgeWell on Andrew Kerr Care merger

Russell Kennedy has acted for Uniting AgeWell Ltd (Uniting AgeWell) on Andrew Kerr Care Ltd (Andrew Kerr Care) merger.

On Tuesday 1 June, 2021 Andrew Kerr Care officially transitioned to Uniting AgeWell ownership and management.

This transaction has enabled Uniting AgeWell to strengthen its support of older people on the Mornington Peninsula, while ensuring the legacy of Andrew Kerr Care continues for decades to come. The purchase will see all Andrew Kerr Care staff being offered employment with Uniting AgeWell and its current residential, day centre and home care services continuing.

Uniting AgeWell is an organisation of the Uniting Church in Australia with a long tradition of providing quality aged care services for older Australians. With services available throughout metropolitan and regional Victoria and Tasmania.

The acquisition illustrates to the sector investor confidence in the potential uplift in existing aged care facilities.

The Russell Kennedy team was led by principal Solomon Miller from the firm’s Corporate Advisory / M&A team with assistance from Felicity Iredale, Senior Associate (Corporate Advisory / M&A) and Rebecca Olle, Laywer (Corporate Advisory / M&A). 

Russell Kennedy advised Uniting Age Well on all legal aspects of the transaction.
