Principal Michael Gorton AM and Lawyer Jack Noone have had an article published in the Australian Health Law Bulletin titled ‘Statutory Duty of Candour’.
The article explores the new statutory duty of candour for Victoria, which has come into effect as at 30 November 2022. This new requirement imposes a legal obligation on many health services to provide open disclosure to patients in response to a serious adverse event.
