Sylvia is an experienced lawyer in Russell Kennedy’s Property & Development team and is based in our Sydney office.

She has experience in acting and advising on a range of property matters for clients including Retirement Village transactions for New South Wales (NSW) and Australian Capital Territory (ACT) operators, advising on Retirement Village legislation and sales and acquisitions of properties.

Experience

  • Advising Retirement Village operators in NSW and in the ACT in relation to compliance with Retirement Village legislation including the preparation of resident contracts and other documents and advising on due diligence procedures.

  • Registration of Retirement Villages and lodgements with Land Registry Services.

  • Handling NCAT disputes on behalf of clients.

  • Providing advice on Stamp Duty liabilities.

  • Advising Retirement Village operators in relation to acquisition of Retirement Villages.

  • Acting on behalf of vendors and purchasers in relation to the sale and acquisition of residential properties including preparing and reviewing Contracts of Sale and advising on various property issues.
