Sean O’Connor is a lawyer in Russell Kennedy’s Government Planning and Environment team. Sean advises private clients and local government authorities across a range of areas including planning, environment, waste management, water and land acquisition.

Sean is dedicated to working with clients to deliver practical outcomes that align legal strategy with commercial objectives, while effectively managing financial, legal and reputational risk.

Experience

  • Providing advice to local government councils and private developers on planning matters, including planning permit appeals.
  • Advising local government councils, water authorities and commercial clients on waste collection, transport, treatment, recycling, energy recovery and disposal (landfill).
  • Drafting section 173 agreements regarding planning permits for local government councils.
  • Assisting government authorities and private clients in Planning Panel processes, such as precinct structure plans and panel hearings.
