Philip is a Senior Associate in the Wills & Estates team and focusses primarily in the field of estate planning, estate administration and estate litigation. Philip is dedicated to helping individuals and families prepare their estate planning in a practical and cost-effective manner, and finds satisfaction in delivering results for his clients, and resolving their disputes.

Philip understands that estate matters are personal and often complex. He prides himself on taking the time to understand each client’s circumstances to take the mystery out of estate planning. He then structures a tailored plan that works for the client, and, crucially, an estate plan that they understand.

Philip’s experience in estate planning and estate administration really comes to the fore when matters turn sour and disputes arise during the administration of a deceased estate. Whether representing an executor, or a claimant; in family provision claims Philip’s experience is instrumental in helping parties reach a practical resolution.

Experience

  • Preparation of standard wills, enduring powers of attorney and medical treatment decision makers;
  • Preparation of testamentary trust wills with or without special disability trusts;
  • Advising executors and administrators of deceased estates of their obligations and assisting with complex administrations;
  • Acting for beneficiaries in respect of estate and trust disputes, including removal of executor applications;
  • Acting for estates and plaintiffs in Part IV claims for further provision against a deceased estate;
  • Negotiating and defending executor commission applications;
  • Preparing complex probate and letters of administration applications;
  • Preparing international and national reseal applications to the Supreme Court of Victoria;
  • Advising clients in relation to disputes surrounding enduring powers of attorney & medical treatment decision makers;
