Nahum is an experienced commercial litigator and leading insolvency lawyer within Russell Kennedy’s insolvency team in Melbourne. He regularly acts for external administrators and bankruptcy trustees, creditors, company directors and shareholders in insolvency and restructuring matters.

Nahum has assisted clients in a range of commercial disputes, including breaches of director’s duties claims, contractual and shareholder disputes, property and equitable claims, and misleading and deceptive conduct claims. Nahum’s experience in business is evident in his commercial approach to litigation, whether exploring alternative dispute resolution options, or prosecuting the client’s case through the relevant court or tribunal.


    • Acting for insolvency practitioners in legal proceedings including public examinations, voidable transactions claims and a range of statutory and procedural applications;
    • Assisting creditors, directors and shareholders in navigating shareholder disputes, claims for breaches of director’s duties, misleading and deceptive conduct claims and security disputes;
    • Advising clients in relation to equitable claims, property and leasing disputes, and remedies pursuant to the Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (Cth);
    • Experience representing clients in State Courts and Tribunals, the Federal Courts, and in alternative dispute resolution processes in Australia and the United Kingdom;
    • Regularly presents on a range of insolvency topics, including unfair preferences, voidable transactions, asset planning strategies and the Bankruptcy Act 1966 (Cth).
