Meena has been practising law for over 5 years, the last few years of which have been exclusively within employment law and workplace relations. He provides advice, and represents clients, in relation to a range of employment-related matters including both litigious and non-litigious matters. Meena has acted for sole traders, small to medium businesses, individuals and larger corporations, and he strives to ensure that clients are able to understand the legal framework they operate within as clearly as possible. Meena particularly enjoys working with employers to understand their respective industries and business models. This allows him to effectively assess their risks and achieve favourable commercial and practical outcomes across a number of different scenarios.

Experience

  • Meena has conducted workplace investigations on behalf of a broad range of employers, from small businesses to publicly listed companies. In addition, Meena has advised extensively regarding various aspects of workplace investigations, including advice about processes that should be followed by employers post-investigation.
  • Meena has previously advised both small and larger employers on an ongoing basis in relation to performance management issues and disciplinary action. This has resulted in successful implementation of policies and procedures, as well as reducing or eliminating the performance and conduct issues faced by various employers.
  • Drafting and advising on employment contracts, independent contractor agreements, awards, enterprise agreements and workplace policies.
  • Meena has extensive experience in both advising on, and drafting, various legal documents within the employment and industrial relations framework.
  • Appearances before the Fair Work Commission and other tribunals, in all states of Australia.
  • Acting for employers and employees in relation to bullying and discrimination claims.
