Jos has more than 30 years’ experience representing clients at all levels of Government, large listed and private companies.

Jos leads the firms Construction and Infrastructure practice. Jos principally practices in the areas of construction litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution in relation to major infrastructure projects. Jos is an active contributor to the construction sector, he is in his fifth year as the General Editor of the Australian Construction Law Bulletin and is Deputy Chair of the Construction and Infrastructure Committee of the Law Council for Victoria.


  • Crown Limited: For the past 25 years Jos has acted for Crown in relation to all project related matters undertaken by the company in Melbourne (including the Main Casino, the Promenade Hotel and the Metropol), in Perth in relation to Crown Towers at Burswood and in Sydney in relation to the Barangaroo Project
  • Acted for designers of the Melbourne Southern Star Wheel throughout its demolition and reconstruction including acting in the resulting Supreme Court litigation
  • Acted in relation to large water pipeline projects and in Supreme Court litigation arising out of those projects
  • Experienced in preparing construction contracts for infrastructure water projects
  • Advised in relation to a large arbitration matter concerning a rail project in Melbourne’s west. Jos also has arbitration experience in the water sector
  • Experienced in representing Commonwealth Government clients, particularly the Department of Finance in the Supreme Court for litigation matters
  • Acting in numerous Security of Payment applications
  • Providing advice with contract drafting, contract administration and claims
  • Assisting clients in all aspects of building and construction and property and leasing disputes
  • Regular contributor to the Australian Construction Law Bulletin (ACLB)
  • Conducts training for clients in relation to the Security of Payment regime in Victoria and New South Wales
