James works closely with Partners and senior lawyers at Russell Kennedy to provide advice and support to clients in a range of employment, industrial relations, discrimination, safety, grievance handling and independent education matters.

James is committed to helping clients achieve strategic and practical outcomes, which include managing legal, commercial and reputational risk when navigating legal issues.

Experience

  • Drafting and advising on employment contracts, independent contractor agreements and workplace policies
  • Advising on workplace investigations, disciplinary matters, redundancies and restructures, ill and injured workers and termination of employment
  • Acting for clients on equal opportunity matters including sexual harassment and discrimination claims
  • Acting for clients in unfair dismissal and general protection proceedings including conciliations in the Fair Work Commission
  • Advising and assisting independent schools across Australia on child protection and student safety and wellbeing issues, including mandatory reporting obligation
