Emmy practises in the areas of regulatory compliance, governance, and risk management for organisations operating in the aged care, disability, and retirement living sectors.
Her practice is focused on advising aged care providers on their obligations under Commonwealth and State legislation, including the Aged Care Act 2024, its associated Rules, and the Financial and Prudential Standards, as well as NDIS laws, restrictive practices legislation, and guardianship / powers of attorney legislation.
She has a strong understanding of the practical application of regulatory obligations and regularly assists with sensitive and high-risk matters involving scrutiny from regulators and organisational governance. These matters include responding effectively to regulators, handling whistleblower disclosures, developing compliance frameworks, and regulators’ investigations.
