Aphra is a litigation lawyer who acts on behalf of various Government clients and statutory authorities, primarily providing advice in the areas of administrative law, prosecutions, professional conduct, disciplinary proceedings and personal injury litigation. She is an experienced Court advocate having appeared in a variety of Victorian jurisdictions.

Aphra brings significant government experience to her role, having acted as a Senior Prosecutor in Victorian criminal courts and as a defence lawyer for vulnerable members of the community at Victoria Legal Aid. With her pragmatic and reasoned approach to matters, Aphra ensures effective resolutions for her clients.

Experience

  • Representing government departments and agencies in Court and tribunals in prosecutions, enforcement hearings and disciplinary hearings, including providing advice on prospects of success and strategy.
  • Acting for government clients in coronial investigations and inquests, including providing advice, interviewing clients, preparing witness statements and instructing Counsel.
  • Providing advice on Intentional Torts (including assault and battery) and negligence claims.
  • Advising and litigating on behalf of the Director of Public Prosecutions in applications and prosecutions in Victoria’s criminal jurisdiction.
  • Advising and appearing as defence counsel for adult and youth offenders in Victoria.
