Our second Local Government – Environmental Health webinar for 2026 will focus on Prescribed Accommodations – Rooming Houses.
Presenting the seminar will be Principal Louisa Dicker, Special Counsel Marcus Heath and Associate Natalie Montalto, who have specialised knowledge and experience in this area of law.
Rooming houses are a growing compliance focus for councils, involving overlapping responsibilities across environmental health, building, and planning.
We will unpack the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 (Vic) and Public Health and Wellbeing (Prescribed Accommodation) Regulations 2020 and discuss:
- Investigating rooming houses
- Powers of entry
- Managing OH&S risks
- Compliance and enforcement tools
- Collaborating across council departments
- Engaging external regulators
