Chaya Lal, Partner, PKF

Chaya is a Partner working in the Business Advisory practice of the PKF Melbourne office.

Chaya’s diverse experience includes advising new businesses in relation to structuring and advising on major restructure strategies and complex tax issues in our ever-changing environment.

With a specialisation in the Property Development and Construction industry, Chaya is an industry expert in this area facilitating her clients with immense knowledge and experience.

Chaya also has in-depth experience with owner-operated supermarkets, professional service firms and medical practices.

Although her main areas of focus are tax and business structuring advice to high net worth individuals and large family groups, Chaya is now increasingly working with business owners and entrepreneurs who have ‘outgrown’ their current service providers and are often in need of help.

Jaqueline Wilson, Associate, Russell Kennedy

Jaqueline works broadly across the commercial sector advising a range of clients in public, private, not-for-profit and social purpose enterprises. She advises on a range of corporate transactions, commercial agreements and governance issues.

Prior to practicing law Jaqueline was an accomplished senior executive, trusted adviser, consultant, non-executive director, and chartered secretary with wide-ranging executive and directorship experience spanning the manufacturing, IT, education, health and community care sectors, in public, private, not-for-profit and social purpose enterprises.

Janet Young, Chief Operating Officer, Russell Kennedy

Janet has over 30 years of international financial, strategic, and operational experience with leading companies primarily in the professional services sector – accounting, management consulting and legal.

Janet is currently a director of HealthShare Victoria which was established on 1 January 2021 as an independent public sector and commercially-oriented provider of supply chain, procurement and corporate services to partner with Victoria’s public health services and suppliers in delivering best-value health-related goods and services. She is Chair of the Finance, Audit and Risk Management Committee and a member of the Remuneration Committee.

She is also the Chief Operating Officer of Russell Kennedy, with previous roles including COO/CFO with law firms Herbert Smith Freehills and Minter Ellison. Her responsibility includes all the business functions of the firm including strategy, finance, human resources, information technology, legal operations and business development. In these roles she was a member of the firm’s executive leadership team and attended board meetings as a permanent ex-officio invitee.

Janet is a Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary and is a member of AICD. She is also a member of the Financial Executive Institute, a mentoring organisation for high potential accountants, and has been a mentor for the past 15 years.

Gina Tresidder, Special Counsel, Russell Kennedy

Gina is a Special Counsel in Russell Kennedy's Corporate and Commercial team, specialising in all aspects of intellectual property (IP) and IT. She acts for clients in a diverse range of industries including fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), medical products, healthcare, industrial and automotive products, software development and IT, media, marketing, food and hospitality, property development, franchising, fashion, insurance, financial services, government and technology.

Gina has been a member of the RKWN since first joining Russell Kennedy, and she regularly presents at seminars and conferences on a range of legal topics for clients and industry groups.
